描述This book examines how the unique perspectives of BIPOC faculty and students must be integrated into the undergraduate curriculum to expose students of color to?education abroad experiences, enhance cultural awareness and sensitivity, and lend to a broader diversity and inclusion perspective. This edited volume,?written by authors of color,?argues that education abroad programs not only provide essential academic and cultural enrichment but can also be an important nexus of innovation. When approached within a creative, interdisciplinary, and holistic framework, these programs are ripe with opportunities to engage various constituencies and a potent source of strategies for bolstering diversity, recruitment, retention, and graduation. Despite a tendency to view study abroad as a luxurious option for persons with wealth and means, the editors and their authors argue that global education should be thought of as a fundamental and integral part of higher education,?forall students, in a global era.

The Model Minority Myth, Critical Race Theory Abroad and Online: Graduate Learners in Contemporary and ethnicity using a learning-by-doing approach. We conclude our insights and lessons from each of our respective Asian and Asian American cultural lenses as both male and female perspectives facilitating critical discourse in internationally experiential higher education settings.

I situate my personal voyages in a broader intersectional analysis of gender, race, class, and disability studies demonstrating why the intentional wandering afforded in this program is central to advancing the ideals of diversity, inclusion, and equity.

Culture to Culture: An Education Abroad Experience from Two Different Racial Learning Perspectives,oups of their similar and assorted reactions to the travel abroad experience. The results of the study indicate that traveling abroad enhanced both groups’ knowledge by the reflection process and through a shared learning process.

It Was Also the , That I Was Going With”: The Impact of Latin* Identiteriences bring the complexity of the Latin* identity to the forefront because perceptions of it greatly depend on geopolitical and historical contexts. This study suggests that Latin* students have unique intersectional experiences that must be acknowledged and embraced within education abroad.
