Micropropagation of , (Cole Crops) can be used, including leaves (cabbage, kale), axillary buds (Brussels sprouts), stems (kohlrabi), flower buds (broccoli), and floral primordia (cauliflower). It is a highly polymorphic species, and has over 40 members (Bailey 1976). Table 1 summarizes eight of the most important varieties commonly grown throughout the world.

Most of them require a warm climate, abundant moisture, and fertile soil. Only a few species can grow in fairly cold weather (below ?20 °C) (Wang and Shen 1987).

Micropropagation of Sugarcane (, spp. Hybrid)rt of the evolution of sugarcane (Daniels and Roach 1987). Sugarcane cultivars contain disease resistance and high sugar yielding genes originating from these wild relative species and related genera of sugarcane.
