Problems with Explant Exudation in Micropropagationgrowing explant. Similar staining of the medium may be observed throughout the in vitro cycle. Although this is a concern for those involved in micropropagation, it has also been noted by researchers working with protoplasts, callus, somatic embryos, and other forms of plant tissue culture.

Rooting of in Vitro Cuttingstro micropropagation. It is thus surprising to see that interest in work on adventitious rhizogenesis has declined over the past 10 years, when it could be of great economic importance due to the development of in vitro microcutting techniques.

Rockwool as a Substrate for Greenhouse Cropso for cut flowers, like gerbera, rose, and carnation. In the meantime systems came into being for plant propagation, rooting of cuttings, and growing of container plants. For these purposes, propagating cubes, plugs, and granulated rockwool were produced.

If the technology could be extended to hard-to-propagate species that are not currently amenable to micropropagation, its commercial useas a tool r rapid clonal multiplication and for producing disease-free propagules couldbe ded significantly (Kyte 1983; Dirr and Heuser 1987; Einset 1987b).
