From Lotos to VHDL,This paper presents the formal description technique LOTOS and analyses how it can be used as a language for describing systems abstractly. The differences between a specification language such as LOTOS and a hardware description language such as VHDL are discussed. A translation model from LOTOS to VHDL is presented.
