描述Over the last decade many efforts have been made to develophigh angular resolution techniques in astrophysics. Combined withimaging facilities, they have rapidly proved their efficiency and havealready led to major astrophysical results. .During the decade to come, astronomers will be offered new, even moresophisticated high angular resolution tools, especially in the IR andoptical domains, coupled with much bigger telescopes, either on theground or in space. .In such a context of rapidly evolving techniques and a growing needfor higher angular resolution to test theories or discover newobjects, the present book reviews both instrumental and scientificaspects. The main questions addressed are: what kind of science willbenefit from high angular resolution techniques? How can they best beused? ..Audience:. The book is accessible to students and researchworkers in both instrumental and astrophysical aspects.

Stephen T. Ridgway suggests the need for economic analyses especially as health-care resources are limited and hospital policy makers have to make difficult choices in a climate of cost containment. Cost is not merely a currency transaction but reflects the consumption of a resource that could otherwise be used for another purpose.

Thus Galen in the second century AD (. 1971) postulated that epilepsy might be due to ‘idiopathic causes’, by which he meant that the underlying nidus of abnormality lay in the brain, but there also were ‘symptomatic epilepsies’ with their origin residing in the cardia of the stomach or elsewhere in the body.
