Herwig Hulpke,Hartwig Wendtthe pencils together using elastic or a rubber band. Here the “joint” would be movable but if force were applied the pencils would come apart. Unlike pencils, bones are living tissue, must support considerable weight, withstand considerable strain and last for the life of the individual.
