Markus Endere not well known to most physicians; on the other, the easy and precise measurement of IAP has not been well documented. Furthermore, the limits of increased IAP, above which it is necessary to intervene, are not well established.

Frank Stückemannatients. Low pain intensity may be a good predictor of patient satisfaction. However, communication between APS staff and patients appears to be just as important as analgesic efficacy in determining patient satisfaction. Patients rate their satisfaction according to the care received, their pain control and their overall hospital experience.

Johann Braunry is a priority for improving patient outcome. Moreover, good knowledge in basic pathophysiology remains the cornerstone to enable clinicians to design strategies with the aim of improving the management of patient-ventilator interaction.

Christian Liedtkevel inflammatory markers, might allow new applications to be developed. Further work on the testing and application of microdialysis in the clinical arena is warranted but, in the meantime, microdialysis provides useful additional information within the context of multimodality monitoring after brain injury.
