Naik We use a boundary condition scheme that significantly improves stability for simulation of turbulent flows within the lattice Boltzmann method framework using a regularized form. Velocity profiles as well as explicit expressions for the turbulent kinetic energy budget are presented.

Time-dependent wall shear stress signals are measured at different positions on the outer sphere and analysed to obtain the power spectra. Starting from the different bifurcation solutions different routes of the laminar-turbulent transition are considered.
