Haemofiltration,which solute molecules pass through a semipermeable membrane into an electrolyte solution by diffusion due to concentration gradient. A comparison of clearances in haemodialysis and haemofiltration is shown in Figure 2.2 and illustrates that clearance in haemofiltration is relatively independent of solute molecular weight (up to 10 000 Da).
