Rodent Studies on the Potential Relevance of Insulin-Like Growth Factor (IGF-I) to Ovarian Physiologgrowth and/or differentiation of the granulosa cell, acting for the most part as an amplifier of gonadotropin action. Granulosa cell-derived IGF-I may also provide paracrine input to the nearby theca-interstitial cell compartment in the interest of coordinated follicular function.

Growth Factor-Gonadotropin Interactions in Ovarian Cells available for any cell type. Also, at this level, there is no information to indicate whether growth factor-initiated mechanisms are the same in reproductive hormone-responsive vs. nonresponsive cells.

Breeding for Aluminum Tolerance,r interactions possible have previously been categorized into environmental, nutritional and regulatory cell-cell interactions (1). The current manuscript will review the interactions between different cell types in the ovarian follicle which regulate cell growth.

Quantitative Genetics and Genomic Selection Preferential binding was IGF-I>IGF-II>insulin. Interestingly, IGFs modulate steroidogenesis in porcine theca cells with a similar order of potency. These data demonstrate high affinity, low capacity binding of IGF-I to porcine thecal membranes and suggest that IGF-I and related peptides act on thecal steroidogenesis through IGF-I receptors.
