Removal of Trace Pollutants by Application of MBR Technology for Wastewater Treatment,igher environmental costs, mainly due to membrane fabrication/installation and energy consumption for plant operation, have to be carefully evaluated in order to assess if MBR can be considered to be a green technology.

The economy of the water treatment process is thus highly optimized by combining WO with a conventional biological treatment.
