Is Global Warming Really Occurring? — What Global Monitoring can Tell UsSerious environmental pollution associated with human activities was first identified in Japan during the reconstruction boom after World War II. Many examples were reported in the 1950s and 1960s, such as the notorious Minamata disease and Yokkaichi asthma.
