Large scientific programs are recognizing that the key to scientific research is the ability to locate data that have already been collected. On-line computer directories help to service this need.

Current changes occurring in the Earth’s atmosphere can be expected to produce serious health hazards to the world’s population. These hazards may range from malnutrition as a result of prolonged regional famine and drought to skin cancer and eye disease caused by exposure to increased levels of ultraviolet light.
