Dunes and Drumlinswind blows sand into a wide variety of different shapes (see Chap. 17 for many illustration of such dunes). Linear dunes, or ‘seifs’, are ridges which form parallel to the prevailing wind direction, while transverse dunes are ridges perpendicular to the wind.
