Appendix B The weight of air and molecular impacts: how do they relate?This note suggests and discusses responses to the question: how does the pressure due to molecular impacts on the ground correspond exactly to the Newtonian force balance? In other words, the value obtained when the weight of a column of air is divided by the area of its base.
