The Epiprotozoic,e termination of the Katangan orogeny of the first order (680–650 m.y.). Thus, the formations examined constitute a separate stage in geologic evolution of the planet and its duration ( ~ 350 m.y.) is more than that of the Paleozoic Era (330 m.y.).
