Geochemical Parameters of Elements Which Condition Their Physical and Chemical Migration,nt of natural waters are controlled by organisms. However, should some element become dissolved in the form of an ion, an undissociated molecule, or a colloidal miscela, its behavior will be governed by the laws of physics and chemistry.

The Gley Processes of Reduction in Epigenesis,hydrogen sulfide and no oxygen. Anaerobic bacteria thrive in such environments. They obtain their oxygen by breaking down different substances. Their waste products — carbon dioxide, methane, organic acids, etc. — are dissolved in water.

Epigenetic Processes in Reducing, Sulfidic Environments,ls which have descended from the oxidation zone above, react with primary sulfides. As a result, sulfides of heavy metals (mainly those of copper and silver) are formed. Hydrogen sulfide is generated locally. The waters no longer contain any oxygen, since this was consumed within the zone above.reac
