Depositional and Floristic Interpretations of a Pollen Diagram from Middle Eocene, Claiborne Formatundance. Plant communities of the three source areas varied significantly in composition, a situation which must be considered in floristic interpretation of past community structures and paleoclimates.

A Geobotanical Overview of the Bryophyta,the present-day moss generic flora has changed little since the close of Cretaceous time and has a preponderance of drought-resistant groups some of which extend back to the Paleozoic; and 6) present day diversity reflects radiate evolution by survivors of the desert episodes into new niches created by the ascendancy of angiospermous vegetation.

Preliminary Investigation of Two Late Triassic Conifers from York County, Pennsylvania,es of leaves and cones possess the same hairy type of cuticle. A small, elongate pollen cone, also with a hairy cuticle, was recovered from the plant layer. This cone contains . Leschik pollen. . and a morphologically similar pollen type, .
