Internal Conflicts in Mexico in the 1980s, genes in bacteria which get transcribed from a single promoter is called as operon. Operon structure and regulations are elucidated in this chapter with examples of “Lac” and “Trp” operons. Regulation of gene expression in lambda phage is also discussed with emphasis on switching of lysogenic and lytic lifecycle of viruses.

Extension of Mendelismles. Such alleles are said to constitute multiple allelic series. However, any given individual can possess only two of such alleles, on a pair of homologous chromosomes. Both homologous chromosomes can carry the same allele (homozygous) or carry different alleles (heterozygous).
