Deformation Measurements on CO2-Laser Output Couplers in Operating High-Power Laser Systems. The deformation of the front- and back-surface of a ZnSe-partial reflector could be confirmed. When examining, the transmitted wavefront, the bulk material clearly shows a power-correlated behaviour. The impact of these measurements on laser optics will be discussed.

Effect of Beam Quality on the Scaling of High-Energy Flow Lasersr intensity. Whereas chapter 2 of this paper illustrates results of a detailed numerical code, a far field scaling based upon a simplified model is presented and discussed in chapters 3 and 4, respectively. This approach may considerably alter the scaling of well-known high energy flow laser candidates.

The seed is recombined with the rest of the pump beam and amplified in a second pass through the Raman cell. The tradeoffs in using the two conversion techniques are discussed.
