Decomposition of Steroids During GLC,do the latter. One of the prime reasons for trying to avoid decomposition during chromatography is the rather hazardous quantitative aspect of such procedures [1]. This is not meant to imply that alteration of compounds, such as side-chain cleavage or cyclization prior to chromatography, would be necessarily undesirable.

Determination of Urinary Pregnanetriol, has been discussed earlier, the latter compound has been shown to be produced by the corpus luteum of the ovary, in rather large quantities by the human placenta, and by the adrenal gland. In general, there appears to be relatively little accumulation of pregnanetriol in normal circumstances.
