描述This book is about the recent advances in the structural and functional characterization of receptors that influence intracellular signalling events through interaction with intracellular GTP-binding proteins (G proteins). Molecular cloning of members of the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily has complemented pharmacological investigations in providing a realization of the structural and functional diversity of these receptors. An increased understanding of the involvement of particular receptor subtypes in normal and pathophysiological processes represents exciting possibilities for the development of highly specific and effective therapeutic agents.

G Protein-Coupled Receptors, Pathology and Therapeutic Strategies,ar biological approaches to investigation of clinical samples and in chromosomal mapping studies and genetic linkage analysis. Given the widespread distribution of G protein-coupled receptors and the diversity of ligands with which they interact, discrete receptors may be considered candidates for involvement in a number of pathological conditions.

Erneute Beteiligung des Privatkapitals,caught on and probably won’t. Although undoubtedly clumsy, the term G protein-coupled receptor is of both historical and functional significance. It encapsulates what is still the most relevant characteristic of this class of receptor: its ability to couple to G proteins.
