Construction and prospective use of displacement-difference vectors (DDVs) in vertical sections acroing actual DDV fields in deformed rock masses. This paper outlines a method of determining DDV rows which is tailored for use in partly eroded belts of ductile dip shear. The method employs arbitrary points on a strained material line coincident with the cross-sectional trace of the erosion surface.
