Antibacterial Agents,which the peptidoglycan precursors are transferred from their carrier molecules to existing polyglycan chains. Once transferred, other specific enzymes catalyze transpeptidation reactions in which two polypeptide segments are joined. In this manner, a densely crosslinked molecular mesh is created.

Antiparasitic Agents,irtually no crossover activity in the other group. Mechanisms of action for many antiparasitic agents are not known. Some of the most effective treatments for parasitic infections are not commonly used in the United States, and are therefore either not available or must be obtained through special channels.
