Land that was not naturally infested in the prehistoric era probably was infested by contaminated seed and plant material before man became familiar with the germ theory. There are a few quarantines in effect that may be helpful in

Mycorrhizae,are formed: ectomycorrhizae, ericaceous, orchidaceous, and vesicular- arbuscular mycorrhizae (VAM). The main importance for plant production within this group has to be attributed to ectomycorrhizae (forestry) and VAM (most agricultural and horticultural plants).
