Electricity: A New Challenge for Storage, within an energy supply chain, it can be difficult to compare the storage-EROI with the EROI of a conventional energy supply chain. It is not clear what the ‘EROI of storage’ would even mean since EROI is most properly applied to the extraction of energy from natural systems (Charles Hall, personal communication).
