Predicting Stability Constants of Various Chelating Agents Using QSAR Technologyg the activity of the chelator is often needed (Hong.1995). The list of chelating substances is long and there is little information in the literature other than specific test information which will provide guidance to the worker as to the selection of the optimum chelator.

However, in the case of sand, the removal of the contaminant is indicated to be a combination of displacement, dispersion/mobilization and solubilization. However, while definite progress is being made, additional discovery is needed to further advance the basic science and technology, and to make translation into practice more of a reality.
