Introduction and Historical Overview,e latter statement is certainly not true even for individual defects, as becomes apparent as soon as one looks in somewhat more detail, it is quite surprising that investigations of combinations of these defects, i.e. complexes combining electronic and atomic defects with molecular ions, were only started in the early 1980s.
