The Phonon Bottleneck,eriment and theory effectively deal with identical quantities, but will this always be so? In the Raman-type relaxation a wide band of the phonon spectrum is accessible and there should be no diff11culty generally in meeting the requirements of the above assumptions. A different situation can obtain at lower temperatures as we shall now show.
