Metallic Waveguides and Resonant Cavities,ter 2, the uniform plane wave in unbounded simple medium was given as the simplest example of the electromagnetic waves. Electromagnetic Waves in Dispersive Media and Anisotropic Media,nstitutional parameters are assumed to be constant scalars and frequency independent. In fact, no medium can always be a simple medium except vacuum. Most media can only be approximated as simple media under certain conditions.
