To better understand and optimize electrokinetic remediation processes, the soil complexity should be analyzed prior to a more in-depth study of the electrokinetic treatment.

Bridge Type Grab Ship Unloadersc model, a numerical inspection of the electrokinetic process of a natural soil contaminated with a polar pesticide, 3,6-dichloro-2-pyridinecarboxylic acid (commonly named clopyralid), has been conducted by the M4EKR tool. This model was developed by the authors and fully implemented in the multiphysics platform COMSOL.
