TRANSMISSION and DISTRIBUTION,a wire is made to cross or cut a magnetic field, an e.m.f. is generated in the conductor. Generation will also take place in the conductor if it is stationary and there is relative movement of the field. Mechanical energy is thereby converted into electrical energy.
