https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-662-33298-6method which for varying coefficient equations, and for nonlinear equations, is able to outperform the optimum SOR method. The LR method can easily solve central-difference approximations of convection-diffusion equations, thus eliminating the need for the trade-off in favour of the upwind-type schemes mentioned in the introduction.

A numerical treatment of two-dimensional flow in a branching channel,ual two coupled nonlinear partial differential equations. These equations are solved using the method of Dennis and Hudson (1978). The effect of the relative widths of the channels upstream and downstream of the branch on the separation of the flow is discussed using results obtained from three separate grid sizes.
