Foundations of the Physics of Shock Waves,Since the classical physics of shock waves is considered in detail in many monographs [1.1, 1.2], in this chapter we restrict ourselves to basic definitions that enable us to obtain insight into and to interpret factual material, and to novel theoretical and experimental results, not yet included in handbooks.

Conclusion,In this century, the chemistry and physics of materials have empolyed physical methods that have given rise to hybrid branches of science and approaches leading to fundamental discoveries. However, most of the physical methods are analytical and do not affect the practical results, i.e., industrial production, directly.
