Intrusive bodies emplaced in stable cratonic terrain,the intrusions; they may be Precambrian or Phanerozoic. The only common feature is that the terrain into which they have been intruded is characterized by long geological stability. Such intrusions are absent from oceanic areas and restricted to continental shield areas.
