A Twofold Model of Environments: Implications for Early Language Learning,9; Skinner, 1957; Staats, 1974) and developmental psycholinguistic (Ferguson & Snow, 1977) theories of language development. Generally, the impact of environment is posited to be twofold: (1) the environment provides input about the structure and function of language and (2) provides consequences for use of language forms.
