The Hive Worcester Library Landscape,. was born in Lower Broadheath just outside Worcester. His musical compositions were inspired by the rolling English countryside surrounding his birthplace, in particular the Malvern Hills. It was here that he was able to find tranquillity in his walks, or as a fair-weather cyclist on his Royal Sunbeam bicycle, which he nicknamed ‘Mr. Phoebus’.
