Echo-Planar Imaging on Small-Bore Systems,il bearing rock samples, and in the biomedical field for studying laboratory animals. While submil-limeter spatial resolution is needed in both of these fields, biomedical MRI has the additional need for efficient data collection, and in many cases motion insensitivity which can be met through the use of echo-planar imaging techniques.

Turbo Spin-Echo Imaging,the raw data needed for image formation are acquired in several consecutive passes instead of one. This segmentation has several advantages: shorter effective echo time, lower bandwidth, less T2 decay, and fewer artifacts.
