https://doi.org/10.1007/978-94-009-4860-0The spectrum of the 1989 Loma Prieta (California) aftershock sequence was examined for the existence of 12 and 24 hour tidal periods. Approximately 6000 aftershocks in the range M.≥1 were included in the study. No significant peaks were seen at the tidal periods. No evidence for tidal triggering of the aftershocks has been found.

Aftershocks of Underground Nuclear ExplosionResults of measurements of aftershock emission induced by underground nuclear explosions are presented and discussed. The explosions of various yields have been conducted at the Semipalatinsk Test Site, Novaya Zemlya Test Site, as well as for peaceful purposes.
