Dwelling,The running-forward-to-death . is the coming-into-self, into the very essence. Mortality is the essence of man. When man lives a ‘deathless’ life, he is not his own self but merely common-man’s self; he lives inauthentically.

Gods,ld, did not sufficiently show how the earth has to b6 thought of in its relation to man; and again, what is its relation to the world when man and gods are brought into play. All this may become clearer in the consideration of the foursome (.), the problem of supreme importance in Heidegger’s late philosophy.

Preliminary Remarks on Vectors and Matrices,me. A thing ‘things’ when it is treated with consideration. Such a treating, a letting-be, is done by dwelling as a mode of being of mortals. Hence, to complete the investigation of world, which . means to complete the investigation of the phenomena of the earth and the gods, it is necessary to consider thing and dwelling.

World, human way of being. An animal does not dwell but merely lives biologically. To dwell means to be in the world as world. All three modes of man’s being, to- be-in-the-world, ‘ec-sistence,’ and dwelling, imply world.

Earth,mphasis on concealing. Consequently, Being can be treated as the earth as well as the world, and ultimately the earth and the world, if not explicitly, at least implicitly, involve each other. Hence, the Greek . can be considered as Heidegger’s earth although they are not wholly identical.

Being,dy will consider several characteristic phenomena leading to the problem of Being. By revealing several of the most characteristic features of Heideggerian thinking and by selecting and stressing a few of the most important problems of his philosophy, the disclosure of the problem of Being itself in its diverse aspects will be accomplished.
