Stellar Perturbations on Cometsy passing stars approaching the Sun at distance less than 1 pc. Within the frame of the impulse approximation we derive analytical expressions for the probability distribution of the impulse imparted to comets for both close and distant approaches. An application to the rate of ejection of comets is presented.

The Transition Between Long Period Comets, Short Period Comets and Meteoroid Streamsnes (P < 200 yr). When the differences in the detectability of comets in the two groups are taken into account it is clear that the present day flux of long period comets is sufficient to provide the present collection of short period comets in the inner solar systems.

Statistical Test of the Distribution of Perihelion Points and its Implication for Cometary Origintry of observers. Further, 67 comets which are . in Oort’s sense are tested similary. The character of their distribution is similar to that of all the known comets. It appears difficult to interpret the clustering in terms of a recent stellar disturbance of the Oort cloud.
