Pattern Formation Processes in Binary Mixtures with SurfactantsA dynamical model is proposed which is suitable for investigating the pattern formation processes in binary mixtures with surfactants. Typical examples of such systems are microemulsions. Bicontinuous and micellar pattern formation processes are demonstrated and the growth laws of the patterns are studied by computer experiments.

Ordering Process Below the Pre-transition Temperature in Multilamellar Lipid SolutionsSmall-angle scattering studies of X-rays and neutrons on multilamellar lipid solutions quenched from the middle temperature phase to low temperature phase show a relaxation process of a simultaneous ordering of new structure and decaying of old structure having the same relaxation time, which depends on the quenched-in temperature.

Theory of Shear Thinning in Liquid Crystal Polymers, for the Lower Shear Rate RegimeA nemato-hydrodynamic theory of shear thinning in solutions of lyotropic nematic liquid crystal polymers(LCP) consisting of semi-flexible polymer molecules is developed for the lower shear rate regime. Generalized power law behavior and crossover behavior are derived between the viscosity and the shear rate.
