https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-030-33188-7 was struck by the remarkable convergence between his analysis and the conclusions of a more technical treatment furnished by the free-energy principle (Friston 2010). In what follows, I try to emphasize the deep connections between these theories by considering some of Hobson’s compelling observations, using the free-energy formulation.

How Does the Protoconsciousness Concept of Dreaming Fit with Your Model of the Animal Mind? Do Dogs,non-human animals are mainly ., lacking any deeper knowledge of the exact . of the stored representations. This is true for both consciousness and proto-consciousness.
