https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-11891-8er. reported to be a cube that has an edge length slightly over 30? and contains about 384 sodium atoms and 768 cadmium atoms. The space group is Fd3m (O..) . Thus, we see that the existence of this most complex compound has been known for U5 years, ever since the first structure determination of an intermetallic compound was published.

R. C. Sobti,Nirmal K. Ganguly,Rakesh Kumaron to having borides, carbides, nitrides, and oxides lumped together in one class. It is indeed rare, but not impossible, to find an individual structure type that spans the entire range from borides to oxides. On the other hand, there is so much overlap between types that a common classification does seem justified.
