The Construction of Physical States in Quantum Field Theory,om heaven” were not required. The ingredients of the success story were to a large extent “more of the same”: space and ultraviolet cutoffs, theories “in a box”, path integrals, perturbation expansions etc., etc.

I will introduce some concepts of Banach space analysis [1], which will enable us to put these intuitive ideas on a rigorous basis. The advantage is that one can sometimes prove the existence of solutions of the exact equations, without any approximations.

Iveta Silova,Jeremy Rappleye,Euan Auldnd what experiments are helpful. The third is about finite energy sum rules, their use to predict high energy scattering, and some problems with asymptopia. Duality and the Veneziano model are omitted, to avoid double-counting (see Kugler’s lectures).

Aspects of Chiral Symmetry,mmetric vacuum state, Goldstone bosons etc., and only at the end is the formalism put to use to obtain verifiable tests. This approach allows the display of mathematical elegance, but it may not be too helpful in motivating in what way these concepts are actually needed to describe the empirical facts.
