描述"Descriptive Topology in Selected Topics of Functional Analysis" is a collection of recent developments in the field of descriptive topology, specifically focused on the classes of infinite-dimensional topological vector spaces that appear in functional analysis. Metrizability of Compact Sets in the Class ,, on open .??.. We show (following Cascales and Orihuela) that every precompact set in an lcs in the class . is metrizable. This general result covers many already known theorems for (.)-spaces, (.)-spaces and dual metric spaces.

Compact Spaces Generated by Retractions,pact spaces obtained by limits of continuous retractive sequences. We also introduce the notion of a retractional skeleton, dual to projectional skeletons in Banach spaces. The last section contains an overview of Eberlein compact spaces with some classical results and examples relevant to the subjects of previous chapters.

https://doi.org/10.1007/978-1-349-20213-3 appeared several times in the previous chapters. Its space of continuous functions turns out to be a canonical example for several topological and geometric properties of Banach spaces. More complicated compact lines provide examples related to Plichko spaces.
