N2O-Formation during Soil CroppingThe dynamics of N.O-production in an agricultural soil have been examined by intermittent measurement of the N.O-concentration in soil air at 15 cm depth. A change in N.O-production corresponding with time within the growing seasons was observed. This change was related to the influence of the growing crop on soil nitrate content.

Nitrate Reduction in the SubsoilNitrate and ferrous iron relationship was investigated in three soil profiles down to 20 m. Samples from the profiles were investigated for their ability to transform nitrate to the gas nitrous oxide and nitrogen in laboratory experiments under anaerobic conditions.

Denitrification by Methanotrophic / Methylotrophic Bacterial Associations in Aquatic Environments in both natural and technical aquatic environments. Hypotheses concerning the particular questions of denitrification by such bacterial associations in the presence of oxygen and with methane as the sole supplied carbon substrate are proposed. Experimental results that seek to further elucidate denitrification with methane are discussed.
