A normal form for distribution predicates is defined and four types of distributions having different practical effects are introduced. Furthermore, some remarks on the units of distribution are included.

A Remote Data Access System in the HMI Computer Networkuclear Research in Berlin. A general overview of this network (HMI-NET) and its facilities is presented. The paper reviews problems and possible design concepts of a remote data access system in a heterogeneous network. The adopted solution for the HMI-NET and its most important design characteristics are discussed.
