Neurofilament Transport,ng evidence for the involvement of neurofilaments in a number of neurodegenerative disorders such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, hereditary spastic paraplegia, Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease, and Alzheimer’s disease. In animal models, overexpression of mutated tau proteins is often used to induce a tau pathology leading to motor and/or cognitive dysfunction.
