Li Jinghan and the Ding County SurveyLi Jinghan (1895–1986), a native of Tong County, Beijing, was a well-known sociologist. He went to the United States for studies in 1917, and there, he majored in sociology and social research methodology. He studied in a number of institutess including Columbia University and a university in California, and eventually earned a master’s degree.

In 1923, he was admitted to the Fengcheng County Second Normal School. He was then admitted to the sociology department of Tsinghua University in 1930, and subsequently graduated in 1935.
